BACKGROUND

Hurricane Helene brought devastation throughout Western North Carolina, and particularly Madison County.

The French Broad Crossing community stands with Madison County and looks to assist in the recovery.  The French Broad Crossing Madison County Support Foundation (“The FBC Foundation”) is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2024 to provide resources for the communities and people of Madison County and enhance the community via public service-related organizations, agencies and other entities serving the community.

 

Recent FBC Foundation Grants

Community Housing Coalition (CHC)

$10,000 grant to fund a park mobile home, providing temporary housing for a family in Marshall, NC, while their house is being reconstructed.

Marshall & Hot Springs Rebuilding Together Grant Fund

$100,000 grant to the Mountain Bizwork’s Marshall-Hot Springs Rebuild Together program providing rebuild funds to 30 Marshall and 11 Hot Springs businesses, with individual grants ranging from $7,500 to $25,000.

Marshall Relief Alliance (MRA)

$10,000 grant to fund the construction of a new gravel entrance for the Rollins community.

Recent FBC Foundation Grants

Marshall Relief Alliance (MRA)

$5,000 grant to support the Safekeeping Community Storage Initiative, providing secure storage for equipment and supplies used in home rebuilding.

The Walnut Community Center (WCC)

$1,000 grant to purchase food for their food bank to supplement farm donations.

Marshall Relief Alliance (MRA)

$10,000 grant helped provide heat to more than 15 local families in need last winter.

FBC Volunteers

FBC homeowners stepped up to help Madison County recovery from Helene. Volunteer efforts to date include clearing roads, shoveling mud, tearing out drywall and clearing buildings in Marshall and Hot Springs, distributing donated goods, individual assistance to people and businesses of Marshall and Hot Springs, French Broad River area cleanup, procuring and providing meals to French Broad EMC, fundraising dinners for local business, donating and arranging supplies and equipment and many other acts of kindness. 

Our Commitment

The FBC Foundation will provide funds to organizations supporting Madison County's recovery efforts, including housing, supplies and economic development. In addition, we seek to help guide the FBC community regarding additional volunteer opportunities.
